Welcome to the 2008 Bellingham Salmon Derby. The Bellingham Chapter of the Puget Sound Anglers, in association with the Northwest Marine Trade Association (NMTA) is proud to present our 4th annual Bellingham Salmon Derby.

The 2007 Derby saw excellent weather and great fishing. Out of 228 entrants we had 86 fish weighed in and many more than that were caught. The winning fish in the adult division was caught by Steve Eastwood and weighed in at 26 lbs. 1 oz. The winning fish in the kids derby was caught by Dane Larson and weighed in at 13 lbs 12 oz.

The 2008 Derby starts at daybreak on July 11th and ends at noon on July 13th. Fishing takes place in Area 7, commonly known as the San Juan Islands. The principal boat launch and facilities used will be at Squalicum Harbor in Bellingham. See the rules and maps pages for more details. The awards ceremony will be held in the dockside area at the Squalicum Harbor Boat launch beginning at 1:00 PM on Sunday, July 13th. Complimentary food and drinks will be provided.

In addition to the prizes awarded as part of the Bellingham Salmon Derby, each adult entrant will automatically be entered into the adult boat raffle conducted by The Northwest Marine trade Association. See the prizes page for more detail.

We want this derby to be a family affair and we encourage kids to enter our kids derby. The entry is free for kids 14 and under and every kid who enters will receive a prize. Also, every kid will automatically be entered into the raffle drawing for the kids boat raffle conducted by The Northwest Marine trade Association. See the prizes page for more detail.
